Does the sound in your favorite AirPods seem to be a little worse, and besides, the headphones began to look untidy? It's time to start cleaning your device! This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to clean AirPods or any other tws headphones neatly, efficiently and without harm to the device.
If you are not sure that you will be able to clean the headphones from dirt on your own, and are also afraid of damaging them, then it is better to contact the service center - the procedure for cleaning the headphones is not worth cosmic money. But, actually, it's simple.
The first thing you need is bright, high-quality lighting so that you can see the dirt when cleaning the headphones. You will need a simple tool and most likely you have everything at home: cotton swabs, toothpicks, a small container, a microfiber cloth, hydrogen peroxide or isopropanol (isopropyl alcohol), a soft-bristled toothbrush.
Many manufacturers do not recommend using a wet method of cleaning headphones, which uses solvents, aerosol sprays, or chemical detergents.
The first thing to do when cleaning your headphones is to assess how dirty they are.
If the devices are only slightly shabby, then wipe the headphone case with a dry cloth.
Be careful with the charging contacts of the earbuds to avoid damaging them.
Wipe the headphone case with a slightly moistened with hydrogen peroxide or isopropanol and a wrung out cloth
If you have AirPods-type headphones, then soft sulfur or small debris from the mesh from the speakers can be cleaned with a cotton swab or toothpick, on the end of which there will be cotton wool. Do not press hard so as not to break the mesh, the AirPods have it very delicate.
If you have tws headphones of the type of vacuum "plugs", remove the silicone ear pads, with a cotton swab dipped in hydrogen peroxide or isopropanol, go over the inside of the ear pads.
In the case of serious dirt, when the dirt is tightly located on the headphones and case, you will have to use a tool. To begin with, we wipe the case from dirt, which can be easily removed, with a dry, lint-free cloth. The next step is to slightly wet the cloth, wring it out, and then, with little effort, but without fanaticism, we wipe off difficult areas of dirt. If there is strong dirt inside the case, then with a damp cotton swab we go through the places with dirt, and then remove the dirt with a dry cotton swab or wooden toothpick. If it does not help, then with a soft bristled toothbrush we pass through the places of contamination.
When cleaning, do not use metal objects or brushes with stiff bristles - you can damage the case.
You need to be extremely careful with the contact sockets for charging, so the case and headphones are turned off or completely discharged.
We clean the contacts with a slightly damp cotton swab or toothpick, at the end of which cotton wool is wound. We wipe the headphone case with microfiber, if necessary, moisten the microfiber and go through it again. We clean the microphone mesh with a slightly moistened brush, which must be shaken off well so that no excess moisture remains on the brush, then we wipe it with a microfiber.
We pass the joints between the mesh and the headphone case with a dry cotton swab, in case of deep dirt - with a toothpick. We wipe everything again with a dry cloth dry, load and use.
